Summary

We supported a pharmaceutical and chemical company with change management and communication throughout the implementation of SAP S4/HANA at sites in Italy, Switzerland and the Middle East.

The Situation

A pharmaceutical and chemical company set up a global program within its healthcare sector to implement SAP S/4HANA. The program aimed to harmonize processes across locations and improve efficiency by using a state-of-the-art solution. The rollout was structured regionally in waves: while some sites had already worked with SAP and were implementing S/4HANA as advanced ERP system, for others it was completely new. End users needed to be enabled and supported in adapting to new processes. As there were significant impacts on manufacturing and warehouse management, effective change management and communication was essential to ensure business continuity and successful adoption.

Our Service

  • We offered change management and communication support for the implementation of SAP S/4HANA at sites in Italy, Switzerland and the Middle East. Our work included conducting stakeholder and change impact assessments, developing a change and communication roadmap as well as a communication plan and the implementation of these activities.

The Outcome

For Italy, Switzerland, Middle East:

  • Conducted stakeholder analysis and change impact assessment
  • Developed change management roadmap and a detailed communication plan to guide activities until go-live
  • Support of: project communication, end-user communication, end-user enablement (incl. communication on trainings, creation of user handbook etc.), on-site workshops at various locations (especially in Switzerland) to identify change impacts, create awareness and define targeted communication activities

For the global program:

  • Designed and launched an intranet page for the global program to provide employees with easy access to information and updates
  • Developed an implementation playbook for the global SAP S4/HANA implementation program to provide guidance and ensure consistency across the different phases of the rollout
