Summary

To address these challenges, a pragmatic, simple, and scalable approach was developed to ensure efficient and sustainable Business Continuity Management at dedicated locations of the client.

The Situation

Our customer lacks centralized planning and documentation for Business Continuity Management (BCM). Several disruptions have already occurred at various sites. The absence of standardized guidelines and a heterogeneous process and system landscape make it difficult to ensure consistent operational resilience across all sites. Additionally, there is no unified documentation of roles and responsibilities, and each location operates independently in a hands-on manner. However, the project faces challenges due to limited availability of local resources. To address these issues, a pragmatic, simple, and scalable toolbox is required to ensure efficient and sustainable Business Continuity Management across all locations.

Our Service

  • Site Selection and Identification: We identified a representative site to pilot a scalable BCM model.
  • Process Alignment and Coordination: We worked closely with the customer to align on processes and the foundational requirements for the BCM strategy.
  • Risk Scenario Planning: We developed targeted measures for identified failure scenarios, ensuring the model addresses the most critical risks.
  • Documentation Concept: We ensured that all BCM documents followed the client's required characteristics: unified structure, simple and clear language, and concise content.

The Outcome

  • Documentation Concept: The result were two documents with a unified structure, simple and clearly formulated content, and a concise format.
  • Minimized Operational Risk: With the introduction of a scalable BCM model, the risk of significant operational disruptions has been reduced.
  • Enhanced Organizational Awareness: General awareness of business continuity issues across the organization has been raised, helping to foster a culture of preparedness.
  • Adaptable BCM Model: The BCM model developed is flexible and can be applied to other BayWa locations in the future.
